چکیده

Background: Essential oils constitute a major class of natural products. They possess various biological activities like anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, analgesic, and antimicrobial have immense application in food, cosmetics pharmaceutical industries. In the current study, essential were extracted from six medicinal plants including Myristica fragrans (endosperm seed or karnel mace), Illicium verum, Syzygium aromaticum, Foeniculum vulgare, Cinnamomum cassia. The phytochemical profiling was carried out by using TLC derivatization, HPTLC fingerprinting, GC analysis. antibacterial anti-fungal activity evaluated agar-well diffusion method. antioxidant DPPH based TLC-bioautograph Results: Each showed different pattern fingerprint on TLC, chromatogram due to their unique composition. All above demonstrated promising against tested pathogenic bacteria (E. coli S. aureus) fungus (C. albicans A. brasiliensis) extents. oil M. fragrance, C. cassia aromaticum prominent antioxidants as per visualization after derivatization. Conclusion: fingerprints each oils. infer that these could be explored further for therapeutic potential new leads food preservative substitution synthetic preservatives.
